Joseph Francis Schwab, Jr. joined Friedemann Goldberg Wargo Hess LLP in July 2021 as Of Counsel to the firm. Mr. Schwab has been practicing law for over 35 years advising high net worth clients and closely held companies in the areas of Business Law, Tax Law, and Estate Planning. He has represented clients in federal and state tax matters, including representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service in tax controversies. Mr. Schwab also maintains a separate law practice in New York as a sole practitioner. Mr. Schwab’s tax law practice is national, including the states of California, Hawaii, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, and Florida.
Mr. Schwab’s prior experience includes a Principal with the northern California CPA firm of Pisenti & Brinker LLP, where he was Co-Chair of the Tax Department, and Chair of the Estate Planning Department; the founding Partner of the San Francisco law firm of Schwab & Associates; and as Tax Manager with the San Francisco, California office of Deloitte & Touche LLP, CPA’S.
